Call for Protest in front of the Spanish Embassy
On June 23, 2021, Judge Lino Rubio of Spanish criminal court No. 1 sentenced 7 organizers from the Spanish CENT Xixión to 3.5 years in prison and a compensation of €150,458; another was sentenced to 8 months in prison for recording a video. They had committed the crime of organizing protest against a local cafeteria and support of a pregnant woman who had been denied due payment for her overtime and holiday work, and who had suffered workplace harassment before going on maternally. A harsh sentence had sparked a protest over 2,000 workers. An appeal to the superior court of justice in a serious regional Court was rejected and ratified prison sentences of six organizers. The CNT now takes the case to the supreme Court and organizes another Mass protest on September 24th. In solidarity with our comrades from the CNT, we join the call for protest in front of the Spanish consulate.
