On March 10, 2024 community organizers led a protest against a real estate event in Teaneck, NJ showcasing occupied Palestinian land, including areas of the West Bank. During the march and at the site of event, local zionists hurled racist, transphobic, misogynistic comments at protestors. More reading on some of the zionists and the event in question can be found here.

While the protest was winding down and people were on their way back to their cars, two pro-Palestine protestors were arrested by the Teaneck Police Department. Teaneck police specifically waited till the end of the protest as people were filtering out to go in and arrest these two people, as there would be little resistance. Teaneck PD later doxxed the two arrestees on social media.

This is a clear tactic of intimidation and state repression.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The community is currently collecting funds for one of the arrestees who was targeted by the Teaneck PD. So far comrades and the larger pro-Palestine NJ community were able to raise $800 in legal funds to support the arrestee. Currently, they still need an additional $1,800 to cover court and lawyer fees ASAP.

At the end of the day WE keep us safe- the movement in Teaneck faces an unimaginable amount state repression and attacks from zionists, as it is a flashpoint for the Free Palestine movement in NJ. We need everyone to show out with the same numbers and intensity for this much needed legal defense as they did for the March 10, 2024 protest. An action is not over until the last arrestee is safe.

Donation Information: A local community group, Wetlands Preserve, is hosting the fundraiser on behalf of the arrestee. Donation can be made via Paypal (click this link to donate). Please put “legal defense” in the description.

Amount Raised So Far: $800/$2,600 (as donations come in the amount listed here will be updated on this article).
