NJ Hate Watch: Alleged Proud Boy and Pedophile Brian Hines

Content Warning: This article discusses pedophilia and child sexual abuse.

As of May 2023, a street-legal Can-Am buggy with NJ temporary plates, decked out in Proud Boys’ colors and imagery has been regularly spotted in front of convicted pedophile Brian Hines’ Bloomingdale, NJ home. Hines is also known publicly his far right politics. Because of these factors it is believed Hines is the owner.

The hood of the buggy bears the well known proud boys wreath symbol.

The passenger side windshield of the buggy has a decal with the hashtag . This hashtag promotes Jay’s Car Wash in Paterson, NJ, which is is owned by former Paterson police detective Jeff Robinson.

A side view of the buggy shows more proud boy imagery, combined with a reference to the 1990’s anime, Berserk.

Hines, is a mid-tier registered sex offender, who resides on Elizabeth Street in Bloomingdale. According to the State of New Jersey Sex Offender Registry, in 1996, at 19 years old, Hines preyed on a 12-year old neighborhood girl and was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault. He has been on the sex offender registry ever since.

This of course is incredibly ironic given how the Proud Boys claim that the LGBTQ+ community are “groomers” preying on innocent children. The Proud Boys’ assertions are obviously false, but it reveals an all too common narrative: that those screaming about “pedos” and “protecting children” need to look in the mirror. While it is unclear at this time if Hines is an official member of a Proud Boys NJ chapter or just larping as one, his far right politics can be 100% confirmed.

Hines has a long history of using his vehicles to intimidate left-wing community members in his town. Local comrades reported that during the George Floyd uprisings and Black Lives Matter protests, Hines parked his large truck in front of a neighbor’s house, specifically blocking their “Black Lives Matter” lawn signs.

Hines’ 1993 Chevy C/K 3500.

Hines’ truck is dark green with a crew cab and a low-profile rear bed. As of May 2023, the truck has been seen out and about in Bloomingdale with yellow Proud Boys “OK hand signal” decals on the driver and passenger side windows, and several flags mounted on the rear window area. The flags include a thin blue line flag and a POW-MIA flag.

Additional reports from community members state that during the 2020 election period, Hines’ home had various pro-Donald Trump signs in addition to a large Proud Boys logo decal in the rear window of a yellow 1936 Plymouth hot-rod-style vehicle.
